Rep. Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Democrat Inez Tenenbaum took part in a debate for the South Carolina senate seat that was opened by the retirement of Senator Fritz Hollings (D-SC)after six terms.

Michael Codgill of WYFF-TV moderated the debate, and candidates responded to questions about their positions on a number of domestic and foreign policy issues. Topics for debate included the candidates' respective records, health care, education policy, homeland security, the war in Iraq, and economic policy. close
