C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2012 LCV Cities Tour” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 9-12 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Cindy Rosenthal, the mayor of Norman, Oklahoma, gave a tour of the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center. Mayor Rosenthal showed the papers of several U.S. senators and congressmen and the presidential campaign of Oklahoma Governor “Alfalfa Bill” Murray as well as other memorabilia. Video clips were shown, including of Representative Helen Gahagan Douglas in the motion picture She. She also talked about the career of Speaker of the House Carl Albert and showed a replica of his office.
