As part of a C-SPAN and Cox Communications project to encourage dialog between students and national leaders, Ralph Rubio spoke to high school students about his career in a service industry. He responded to questions and comments from the students. Following his presentation, Mr. Rubio received a sweatshirt from Principal Rindone.

Ralph Rubio, along with his father as partner, opened his first fish taco stand in San Diego in 1983. He has since developed a chain of restaurants. Among his philanthropic work is the creation of Cabo Café, a restaurant which is owned and run by students at a school for homeless children on the school premises in downtown San Diego. Cabo Café provides job training, part-time employment, and support for school programs. close
