Linda Thomsen talked about the regulation of capital markets. She argued that fair and vigorous enforcement of laws regulating trading is essential to the integrity of the financial markets. She pointed out that the U.S. Securities Regulatory and Enforcement model has been adopted by a number of other countries because it is one of the best of its kind. She also discussed measures taken by the international community to prevent illegal or unfair trading practices. Following her prepared remarks she answered questions from members of the audience. close
