Interim Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, John Reed, testified about America’s capital marketplace structure, focusing on operations, corporate governance, and oversight at the New York Stock Exchange. Among the issues addressed were regulations designed to protect investors, promote competition, and provide increased transparency and efficiency.

Mr. Reed’s predecessor, Richard Grasso, resigned on September 17 amid heavy criticism of his nearly $140 million compensation package. close
