Two legal experts debated the question of whether Saddam Hussein could receive a fair trial before the Iraqi Special Tribunal. Curtis Doebbler, a member of Saddam Hussein’s legal defense team, argued that Hussein could not receive a fair trial at the hands of the tribunal. Case Western Reserve law professor Michael Scharf, a volunteer adviser to the Iraqi Special Tribunal, contended that the rules of the tribunal would provide a fair hearing of the facts. Associate Dean Hiram Chodosh moderated the debate.

The debate was held by the Frederick K. Cox International Law Center in the Case Western Reserve University School of Law moot courtoom.
