Participants talked about civil liberty issues, efforts to combat terrorism and plans to install surveillance cameras throughout Washington, DC in order to provide greater security. Among the issues they addressed were the potential uses of the cameras by law enforcement officials, proposals to establish a national identification system, and several lawsuits in which the ACLU had and interest. Mr. Rosen gave the keynote speech in which he focused on privacy rights and surveillance cameras. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
