Lord Butler of Brockwell was appointed February 3, 2004 to lead a review of British pre-war intelligence on Iraq. Lord Butler released his committee’s report at a news conference. The report criticized faulty intelligence on Iraqi weapons programs prior to the war but stopped short of accusing the government of intentional deception or false statements. close
