Former President George H.W. Bush held a news conference to endorse the presidential candidacy of Republican Senator John McCain. He talked briefly about the U.S. economy and other campaign issues and praised the senator. Senator McCain thanked President Bush for his support and both men responded to reporters' questions. Former first lady Barbara Bush and Mrs. McCain were on the stage with their husbands.
