Richard Cordray gave his semi-annual report to Congress of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). In his testimony he said that the CFPB would draft a proposal to address a provision of the Credit CARD Act that required companies to consider an applicant’s ability to pay before issuing a credit card. Among the other issues he addressed were mortgages, overseas money transfers, and the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial oversight law. close
