1994 marks the 40th anniversary of the \f2Brown v. Board ofEducation\fR Supreme Court decision. At the U.S. Supreme Court, HowardUniversity Law School hosted a commemoration of that case. Speakersincluded Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and Howard Law School Dean Henry Ramsey. The 1954 \f2Brown v. Topeka Board of Education\fRdecision stated that segregation in public schools was a violation of the14th “separate but equal” doctrine of the 1896 Supreme Court decisionin \f2Plessy v. Ferguson\fR.
