The National Press Club held its annual dinner to award its 1988 Fourth Estate Award. After sometimes humorous speeches by Lou Cannon, James Baker and Jack Germond, Mr. Roderick presented the Fourth Estate Award to David Broder. Mr. Broder, a national political correspondent, then reminisced about his career and humorously thanked his journalist friends and his family. close
