The committee heard testimony from Judge Breyer during the second day of his Supreme Court confirmation hearings. He responded to questions on his legal writings and views form committee members in approximately thirty-minute rounds of questions by each member. In this second day of hearings, Judge Breyer was questioned on a variety of topics, including capital punishment, the 4th Amendment, Brown vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, and federal mandatory sentencing guidelines.
