Former Senator Alan Simpson (R-WY) and former White House Chief of Staff Erksine Bowles talked about the “fiscal cliff,” impending tax increases and budget cuts at the end of 2012 if Congress fails to reach a new budget agreement. Mr. Simpson and Mr. Bowles were the co-chairs of President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform to advize on reducing the budget deficit and national debt. They were highly critical of Congress for not adopting their recommendations.
