A book launch party was held for John Merrow, author of The Influence of Teachers: Reflections on Teaching and Leadership. In the book he examines the current issues facing American education and presents his thoughts on how the system can be reformed. Mr. Merrow was seen talking to guests before making remarks. The introductions included a video by Jim Lehr in the form of a "PBS NewsHour" report on the release of the book that included numerous clips. The book party was held April 4, 2011, at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C.
