Spanish Prime Mininster Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero testified before the Spanish Parliamentary Commission about the March 11, 2004 Madrid bombings. Almost 200 people were killed and 1,900 people wounded in attacks. He was elected Prime Minister on March 14, 2004--three days after the Madrid bombings. During his testimony, he denied claims that his party tried to gain politically from the attacks.

Mr. Zapatero is the first Spanish Prime Minister to testify

before a parliamentary commission of inquiry. The hearing lasted over 15

hours on Monday. This program includes the first 90 minutes.
