Psychology professor Vamik Volkan discussed his book, “Bloodlines: From Ethnic Pride to Ethnic Terrorism.” In the book, Mr. Volkan applied a psychoanalytic approach to the study of various ethnic conflicts around the world, which included the former Yugoslavia, Cyprus, and the Middle East, seeking to understand the roots of conflict and to propose strategies to reduce the chances for ethnic conflict. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
