Howard University faculty and students in the political science department talked about the status of African-American men in the United States and the causes of their current state. They discussed several topics affecting black males, including a recent report by the U.S. Sentencing Commission which indicated that one third of African-American men currently have some relation to the justice system through incarceration or probation. They also took questions from the students in the audience. This event was part of events surrounding the Million Man March scheduled for 16 October. close
