African American writers participated in a roundtable discussion titled, “Impact of Katrina and 911 on Literature by Black Writers.” They talked about issues of race and class brought out in the response to the disasters, the responsibility of the black community to chronicle such events, and personal and community experiences in the aftermath of the disasters. Following their discussion, panel members responded to questions from the audience.
