Both NAACP President Kweisi Mfume and Chairman Julian Bond criticized President Bush for not speaking at the NAACP convention in Philadelphia during their annual meeting. Mr. Mfume also criticized conservative black organizations, saying they are usually formed and funded by whites and that they “won’t work” in undercutting the NAACP.
