Witnesses testified about threats of bioterrorism and measures implemented to reduce risks and protect civilian populations. Among the topics they addressed were policies implemented following several anthrax attacks in 2001, vaccine development and distribution, and research and development of new technology to be used in the event of an attack with a biological weapon. They also talked about a recent Government Accountability Office report on the issue.
