General Tom Lawson, who is second in command of the Canadian military, talked about military relations between the U.S. and Canada. He began his remarks with a history of U.S,-Canadian relations over the preceding century before focusing on present day issues such as the war in Afghanistan and the impact of climate change on naval routes through the Arctic. Following his prepared remarks he answered questions from moderator Kathleen Hicks as well as from Stephanie Sanok Kostro and Samuel Brannen of Center for Strategic and International Studies. close
