Richard Goldberg talked about his book, The Battle for Wall Street (Wiley; January 9, 2009), which explains how the information age changed the dynamics on Wall Street. In his view, sell-side players used to be in control, but now buyers know more and are altering the power structure in the market. He describes what will happen in the battle between buy-side and sell-side market forces and what the market power struggle will mean for the financial future of the country. Following his remarks he responded to questions from the audience.

Richard Goldberg is a 25-year Wall Street veteran who worked for Lehman Brothers and Lazard & Wasserstein Perella, among others. He teaches at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and is a former professor at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and Brandeis University’s International Business School.
