Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown talked about his memoir, Basic Brown: My Life and Our Times. Mr. Brown served in the California State Assembly for thirty years and as mayor for two terms. In the book he chronicles his experience growing up in Texas and California, his rise in politics, and offers advice for today’s young leaders. The former mayor was interviewed by the Very Rev. Alan Jones, dean of Grace Cathedral. He also responded to questions from members of the audience. close
