At the annual Lord MAyor’s Banquet, British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced that the Bank of England would now oversee financial regulation in Great Britain, a departure from the previous system under the Labour government. Mr. Osborne laid out the government’s plan to re-structure the financial system in a speech to the financial community in London.
