Budget experts from Congress and the White House discussed the political and fiscal prospects of balancing the budget by 2002. They discussed issues such as the need for a constitutional amendment, economic assumptions and the rate of deficit reduction. They also took questions from members of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and others. Senator Domenici arrived late and left early due to his schedule.
