Leading up to the British general election on May 5, 2005, the three British party leaders, Liberal Democrats Leader Charles Kennedy, Conservative Party Leader Michael Howard, and Prime Minister Tony Blair, appeared consecutively on BBC "Question Time". Each party leader spoke for 30 minutes and respond to questions submitted by the studio audience. The studio audience of around 160 was selected to reflect the political balance of the electorate as a whole. The program was hosted by David Dimbleby. close
