The National Book Foundation presented the 2010 National Book Awards. The winners were: Mockingbird, by Kathryn Erskine, for Young People’s Literature; Lighthead, by Terrance Hayes, for Poetry; Just Kids, by Patti Smith, for Nonfiction; and Lord of Misrule, by Jaimy Gordon, for Fiction. 
Andy Borowitz was the master of ceremonies at the 61st National Book Awards Benefit Dinner and Ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
