Vice President Mike Pence and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull took part in a news conference following their bilateral meeting in Sydney. The two outlined the U.S.-Australia alliance, economic relation,s and the security situation in the Asia-Pacific region. Vice President Pence said the U.S. would honor the refugee agreement with Australia, subject to the results of the vetting process. Regarding North Korea, the vice president said the goal of a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula could still be achieved peacefully due to new engagement with China. close
