Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, was honored by Purdue University in a ceremony to dedicate the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Mr. Armstrong and the many other astronauts attending were graduates of Purdue University.

The national anthem was sung by twelve-year old Joshua Campbell.
