Secretary Paulson and federal officials testified about federal government action taken under the Troubled Asset Relief Program being managed by the Treasury Department. They also spoke about other initiatives taken by the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in response to turmoil in the financial markets, increased incidents of foreclosures, and tight credit markets.
