James Phillips moderated a panel discussion titled, “Reporting on the Report: Assessing Progress in Iraq.” The panelists talked about the congressional debate on U.S. Iraq policy after the release of the Bush administration’s progress report on Iraq. They also talked about the testimony of report authors General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker at congressional committee hearings. Topics included the effect of the shift to the ‘surge’ strategy on security in Iraq, the prospects for political progress in Iraq, and the implications for the future of Iraq and for U.S. policy.

Code Pink members interrupted the program to protest the war in Iraq at the beginning and later during the program. close
