Panelists discussed energy security in Asia and the issues that could be raised at the East Asia Summit and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forums scheduled after the November 2014 midterm elections. Topics included the challenges of rising demand and costs, alternative energy sources, lowering carbon emissions, expanded use of nuclear power, and the need for strategic energy reserves. PowerPoint presentations were used.
