The CATO Institute sponsored a forum on the upcoming United Nations Conference on the Environment and Development entitled, “The End of the World As We Know It?: The Apocalypse Lobby Goes to Rio.” Several public policy analysts spoke to decry the “scare tactics” used by environmental groups to pressure public policy toward environmental concerns rather than economic growth.
