Jon Meacham, author of Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power, recounted the political thinking and career of America’s third president. He examined Jefferson’s relationship with political power and reported that despite his strong beliefs and opposition to confrontation, Jefferson was able to successfully lead the country in a highly partisan political environment. The event was hosted by Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC. Mr. Meacham responded to questions from the audience.
