A panel of astronauts, including Alan Shepard, James Lovell, Eugene Cernan, Walter Schirra and Neil Armstrong, talked about their experiences on the Apollo moon missions. Roy Neal, former NBC News Aerospace Correspondent, presided over the forum and reviewed the history of the space program. The astronauts talked about the dangers and uncertainties that the space program went through and the thrills of exploration. They also talked about the early days of testing in different aircraft in preparation for going to the moon and the subsequent Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions. close
