Apel, docket number 12-1038, a case concerning an anti-war activist who was protesting on land owned by a military base. The defendant was barred from an Air Force base because of earlier convictions for vandalism and trespassing, but he returned to protest in an area outside the main entrance of the base. The military owns that section of land, but a public highway crosses over it and a painted green line separates that easement from the closed part of the base.
