Health experts spoke to reporters about recent findings that drew connections between the use of anti-depressant drugs and suicide among adolescents. The report maintained that the use of such drugs causes “statistically significant increases in suicidal thoughts and behaviors.” Dr. Kweder and Dr. Katz spoke about the report’s findings and methods, and Mr. Crawford spoke about the Food and Drug Administrations recommendations. Mr. Crawford noted that the use of anti-depressants has helped many adolescents and discussed the FDA’s decision to request more detailed warning labels and guidelines.
