Winners of the 2007 American Book Award for multicultural literature read selections from their work. After a welcome to Oakland by Jack Russo, California Poet Laureate Al Young gave the keynote address. Emil Guillermo hosted the 27th annual ceremony which was held at Laney College Theatre in Oakland, California.
