Federal Communications Chairman Reed Hundt spoke about alchol advertising on television. His speech was part of a conference on underage drinking sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Chairman Hundt spoke against the recent decision by distilled spirits manufacturers to advertise their products advertising on television. He stressed that the airwaves belong to the public and that the Federal Communications Commission will move to protect the public interest in this area if necessary. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience of students. close
