Rep. Obey, ranking Democrat on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, Rep. Van Hollen, House Education and Workforce Committee member, and others talked about the Center’s new study on college affordability. They said that the administration’s small increase in budgeted Pell Grants to the states will decrease the numbers of persons who can attend college. They also said that requirements for Pell Grants have changed to make it more difficult for students to apply. They answered a few questions.
