Alan Brinkley spoke about the way in which different societies envisioned power during the previous world wars and aspirations cultures had in the hopes that the post war life would be better. He focused on minorities, conservatives, liberals, men and women, a wide variety of people, and how they interpreted President Roosevelt’s vision to create an America that would be part of the world community. He responded to questions from members of the audience.

“Visions of Peace in an Age of War,” part of the General Raymond E. Mason, Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series on World War II, was held at 6:00 p.m. CT in the pavilion of the National WWII Museum as part of the grand reopening weekend. close
