Commission members heard testimony from former intelligence officials concerning the necessary role and capabilities of the U.S. intelligence community after the Cold War. Joseph Nye, Former Assistant Defense Secretary of International Security Affairs, talked about the difficulties of intelligence analysis in the no longer bipolar global situation and William Barr, Former U.S. Attorney General for the Bush Administration, talks about the relationship between intelligence and law enforcement. The commission was established by Congress in October 1994 to investigate the role of U.S. intelligence agencies in the post-Cold War world. close
