Television cameras recorded the proceedings of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania as it heard testimony in the case Edmonda Becker v. Unisys Corporation, in which a former employee of Unisys brought suit against the company for age discrimination. The case took place on the first-day television cameras were allowed in Federal courts, beginning a three-year experiment of the effect of television coverage on court proceedings. Television cameras were being allowed in Federal courts on civil cases only, not in criminal cases. close
