The Senate Foreign Relations Committee discussed the U.S. policy options in South Africa. In 1986 the U.S. passed a comprehensive anti-apartheid act, which is believed to have helped decrease apartheid as well as show U.S. opposition to apartheid. The George H. W. Bush administration wanted to work with Congress to forge a bipartisan policy with South Africa, which would unite both branches of government. A review has been conducted, and the reports of that review are given. close
