David Axelrod and Josh Bolten talked about partisanship in national politics and how civility and cooperation might return to political discourse. Also participating were Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Barry C. Black and Michael Beschloss, who provided insight from their experience and placed the partisan struggles within an historical context. They responded to questions from the audience.

“Governing across the Divide” was the 2010 Nancy and Paul Ignatius Program, held in the nave of the Washington National Cathedral. close
