Elaine Nichols talked about the background and context of an oral history interview given by civil rights activists David and Satoko Ackerman. The interview on September 20, 2011, was part of the Civil Rights History Project, a joint undertaking of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture and the American Folklife Center in the Library of Congress, conducted by the Southern Oral History Program at the University of North Carolina. Ms. Nichols participated in the original oral history interview. close
