The book tells the story of the author’s involvement in America’s fight in the Cold War in the last half of the twentieth century. The author is a former Secretary of the Air Force, Director of the National Reconnaissance Office, and Special Assistant to President Reagan for National Security Policy; involved in the Cold War in some form or another for more than 30 years. To discuss his book, Mr. Reed is joined onstage by former Secretary of Defense (1973-75) James Schlesinger as well as Philip Taubman, author of Secret Empire: Eisenhower, the CIA, and the Hidden Story of America’s Space Espionage. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.
