Nancy Isenberg talked about her book Fallen Founder: The Life of Aaron Burr, published by Viking. She contends that the third vice president of the United States deserves to be included within the pantheon of the founding fathers. She described Burr, Thomas Jefferson’s vice president, as a scapegoat, saying he was not a villain as is portrayed in most histories due to the writings of political rivals from the 18th century. She described his relationship with Alexander Hamilton, whom he later killed in a duel. She read excerpts from the book and responded to audience members' questions. close
