John Lukacs talked about his biography, George Kennan: A Study of Character, published by Yale University Press. Lukacs recounted the life of diplomat and historian George Kennan (1904-2005) who assisted in the development of the Truman Doctrine and the drafting of the Marshall Plan. Kennan’s writings were integral in the shaping of American foreign policy in the 1940s. After his presentation Mr. Lukacs responded to audience members' questions.

John Lukacs is a member of the Royal Historical Society of the United Kingdom and a past president-elect of the American Catholic Historical Association. He is the author of over twenty books including Five Days in London: May 1940. close
